peer review

I personally find the peer review to be helpful just because i can listen to my peers critique my paper and ask questions about the certain things they do not know about. Just because it made sense to me does not mean that they can understand it. I realized this when i handed my first draft paper to each of them and they were like what does this have to do with literacy. this made me stop and think about exactly what i was trying to explain in the paper and it also helped me to realize i need to focus on certain things instead of jumping around while trying to explain just one point. I also feel that the peer review has personally helped me in understanding what exactly i am supposed to write about. At first thought i was gonna change my subject but when i stated to think about it i was just coming about what i was originally talking about in the wrong way. So after they left their comments on my paper and i spoke with some of them in class i decided to keep the original paper and take it from there. however theres only like one paragraph of the original paper that is left, due to my jumping around while trying to get to one certain point. Other than that i think that the constructive criticism has helped open my eyes to points i would not have seen from just me reading a paper. while doing peer reviews in class and reading over papers with other classmates i have learned to pay more attention to the way i write for example run on sentences. I use alot of run on sentences because i have not really had to write papers in such a long period of time that i just forgot about them. The review makes it a little easier for me to pick up on things.

Good day

So today turned out to be a pretty good day after the first class of the morning. I showed up to english this morning without the homework reading and my class blog was posted in every place except for the right one. The teacher is asking questions about the reading and I am just sitting in my chair like a complete dumb ass because not only did I not print the reading and bring it in, I did not even read it! I could not figure out how to get it from the computer on to paper.  Moving on i go and ask for some help after the class. So i go to math and the one subject I absolutely suck at seems to be my strongest point so far. After math I get informed on how to post and set up my blog page the right way, so at this point I am feeling somewhat smarter (learning is occurring). After my lesson on how to use the computer I went to the overpriced chicken phillip got some grub and attempted to do some math homework while switching pages over to english at the same time. My day has been alright at this point however the greatness is about to start. About 1350 my recruiter calls and says that I need to call this lady about my security clearance, (which happens to be the last part of paper work for my reenlistment)  they ask me some personal questions about the past and what not, everything turned out fine and the guy says to me that I am all set.  So at this point I am excited cause I have been dealing with this BS for over a year. 1400 I walk into my last class of the day and it flies by pretty quick so at 1515 I am ready to go home. Before i make that walk to my car i decided to go and pay my tuition before they throw me out of school, the lady at the desk says to me "you owe 3500 dollars" how do you want to pay for that? Im like credit card, then I ask her will the VA reimbursed me, she says hold on honey let me check.  I am now thinking i am about to be out 3500 beaners. This beautiful young lady turns to me and says "someone has put a hold on your account and that I was fine because the VA was taking care of it. So the moral reason for my posting this blog is that any day that I am told that i do not have to drop 3500 dollars is and outstanding day.

So I have been in the Marine Corp for eleven years and Im currently in the process of trying to reenlist.
The problem is that once you are prior service if you get out and try to come back in it takes forever because there are so many hoops I have to jump through to get all the paper work finished, which blows my mind considering the fact that they have already paid for me to go through all this training. However some new kid right out of high school can sign up and get sent out in a week and the individual has got no type of training or know how about anything, this pisses me off.  Meanwhile I try to make this transition to go to school and be a college student which is cool but everything has changed since I've been to school. Now days kids are walking around with computers and doing all their work and homework on computers in class and taking school tests on the freaking internet. Which is alright for people that have that computer experience but for people my age who have not been around computers and school in such a long time it tends to hinder my abilities in doing work as quickly as others, also makes me look like a freaking idiot, which is fine because I still got some learning to do with computers. Hopefully I will figure the computer out and get in the swing of things quickly
